The PCT High-Pressure Accelerated Aging Test Chamber is primarily used to evaluate the moisture resistance of semiconductor packaging. Test specimens are exposed to harsh conditions of elevated temperature, humidity, and pressure. Moisture penetrates the encapsulation material or the interface between the encapsulant and the lead frame, potentially causing failures such as open circuits due to corrosion in active metal areas, or short circuits between package pins due to contamination.

This chamber is widely used for testing the sealing performance and pressure resistance of products like PCBs, multilayer circuit boards, ICs, LCDs, and magnets. The purpose of accelerated aging tests is to apply increased environmental (e.g., temperature) and operational stresses (e.g., voltage, load) to expedite the test process and shorten the lifespan evaluation time of products or systems.
